Description

This is a simple 5x5 (minimum size) demo. There is no upper limit on the size of your grid. Two boxes with clues come handy when a crossword is larger than your browser screen. Clues could be also provided as an additional list in plain HTML, of course. The applet is intelligent enough to break longer clues in 2 lines - quite convenient for such a small example (or really long clues).

Click on any square to see the clues for words crossing it. Type in a letter to fill the square, use Space Bar or BackSpace to clear it. Click in the current (highlighted) grid cell to change directions.
